Mustangs are a cherished part of America's history, and are beloved for their beauty as well as their grit and resilience. In 1971, the United States Congress declared that "wild free-roaming horses and burros are living symbols of the historic and pioneer spirit of the West." Another American favorite is fireworks! Fireworks have long been part of American celebrations. When colonists first traveled to the New World, they brought along fireworks - which at that time were called "illuminations." Illuminations were even used to celebrate the very first anniversary of Independence Day, and have been used so ever since!
